Be A Hero for the Planet, Switch Off for Earth Hour 2014
You don’t need superpowers to be a superhero for the environment. All it takes is a simple flick of the switch. Turn your lights off for just one hour on Saturday, March 29th at 8:30 pm and help save this planet we all live in.
Switching off the lights is more than just a symbolic gesture. You save energy for sixty minutes. And while you may not see a drastic reduction in your electricity bill, you help reduce carbon dioxide emissions or CO2, the reason why temperatures are rising.
And did you know that by turning lights off, you also save birds? That’s because birds often migrate at night and the bright artificial lights is confusing for them. They can veer off course and collide into buildings. Colliding with buildings is said to be the leading cause of death for migratory birds.
