  7. About difficult times that you had.
  8. That when you hold their hand and squeeze it 3 times, its a secret code for, “I love you.”
  9. About your plans for the future.
  10. About what you do.
  • Listen:

  1. To your child in the car.
  2. Yo what you child tells you about their toys, and think how important that is to them.
  3. To the questions when your child needs your help.
  4. For one second longer then you patience allows you.
  5. The feelings that are behind the words of your child.
  • Ask:

  1. Why do you think this happened?
  2. What do you think will happen if….?
  3. How can we find out?
  4. What are you thinking?
  5. What is the best thing that happened to you today?
  6. How do you think this tastes?
  • Show:

  1. Do something, instead of forbidding to do something.
  2. How to whistle.
  3. How to play cards.
  4. How to cut food.
  5. How to fold clothes.
  6. How to find information.
  7. Love for your significant other.
  8. Taking care of yourself is very important.
  • Make Time:

  1. To look at construction sites.
  2. To look at birds.
  3. So that your child can help you cook.
  4. To go hiking together.
  5. To play in dirt.
  6. To solve problems at your child’s pace.
  7. To just sit quietly while your child plays something.
  • Make them happy by:

  1. Make a surprise.
  2. Put chocolate into blintzes.
  3. Put out food on his plate in a form of a smiley face.
