Kids Take to the Catwalk
Kids, tweens, teens took to the catwalk in trendy summer ensembles for Shangri-La Plaza’s highly-awaited summer fashion event last weekend. Young models walked the runway in outfits inspired by upcoming Hollywood blockbusters.
The film Madagascar 3 unleashed the safari vibe from mainstream brands Gap, Debenhams, Naf Naf, Folded & Hung, Fletcher and PJ Sleepwear. The outfits were in animal prints, with touches of vibrant colors to add playfulness to the whole safari summer look.
Inspired by the layered nomadic looks from Ice Age 4, Zara, Plains & Prints and Kids of Bayo showcased how classic pieces were updated to suit its youthful wearers, while Mint Lush +O and Una Rosa demonstrated how casual wear can be turned into fashionably dressy ensembles.
Not to be missed were fashionably on-trend multi-looks from Crossings Deaprtment Store, Human, Converse and Bench, all of which were inspired by the film Men In Black 3. Ensembles honed in on the practicality of key wardrobe basics as they showcased how individual pieces can be worn in numerous ways.
The military look, inspired by the movie G.I. Joe Retaliation, was definitely in the zone as participating brands Osh Kosh B’ Gosh, Mothercare, Space, and Bayo featured a the evolution of the military look that suited the season.
Finally, party wear shone in the spotlight as Rustan’s Department Store, Gingersnaps, R.A.F. and Periwinkle took their fashion cues from the film Snow White and the Huntsman with pieces that spoke volumes of the theme bejeweled frou frou. They showcased a repertoire of style-savvy outfits perfect for that special occasion.
To cap off the exciting summer fashion lineup, the special category sale for the Kids and Youth Zones continues until May 20. Amazing discounts are in store for avid shoppers as participating brands offer great deals on stylish picks for little ones and teenagers.
