With their boundless energy and superb multi-tasking abilities, more and more moms are taking the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship. Setting up ventures in a variety of diverse industries, mompreneurs have certainly made their mark as successful business owners. These moms are getting together for the first business conference next weekend.

THINK BIG: The 1st Mompreneur Summit is happening on September 15, Saturday, at the Intercontinental Manila Hotel in Makati City. Mom entrepreneurs will share their experience and knowledge on how to start or expand a business with aspiring business moms.

Mom speakers include Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva, founder of Mompreneur Manila which is organizing the event. Janice is also the founder of Mommy Mundo, managing director of Mommy Matters,and Creative Juice Communications Inc. She will speak on “The Mompreneur Movement and Why Mompreneurs Should Think BIG!”

 Marketing expert and author Josiah Go, CEO of Waters Philippines and co-founder of Mansmith & Fielders, will delve on the complexities of brand building and personal branding. Amor Maclang, director for communications of award-winning communications agency, Geiser Maclang Marketing Communications Inc., will guide emerging mompreneurs through the worlds of marketing and public relations. With most businesses now going online, Janette Toral’s session on “E-Commerce and Social Media Techniques to Build your Business” is certainly something to look forward to. Janette is the founder of and the author of various books on e-commerce. Anton Diaz, one of the country’s most followed bloggers will discuss how mompreneurs can create an online persona as well as how they can find a vision beyond themselves. Anton is the founder and publisher of He also teaches Professional Blogging and Internet Marketing at the Asian Institute of Management. Krie Reyes-Lopez, founder of Messy Bessy, manufacturer and wholesaler of nontoxic, all-natural and environment-friendly household cleaners, will share her “Social Mompreneurship” experience with conference participants, and talk about how her venture achieved profitability while helping protect the environment and giving back to the community. PLDT KaAsenso spokesperson Mompreneur Jen Tan, owner of Like Minds Inc, makers of Next9 products, and co-founder of LATCH and the Filipino Association of Babywearers (FAB), will reveal practical time management strategies for all types of mom entrepreneurs.
