SM Supermalls is launching the biggest and only gathering of 40 cartoon characters in 44 malls nationwide at SM City Fairview this Friday, April 12, 2013! Dubbed “SM Toonfest”, the summerlong festival that ends May 31 will feature a never-seen-before number of activities and cartoon-related toys and interesting finds for the whole family and the cartoon-lover to enjoy.

The SM Toonfest will showcase meet and greets with beloved characters such as Spongebob and Patrick, Dora and Boots, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbie Ballerina, Polly Pocket, Monster High, DC Comics Heroes, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Angry  Birds, Hello Kitty, Despicable Me Minions, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert & Ernie, Alex the Lion, Lorax, Ben10, Hop, Garfield, and Robbie Rabbit.

Fun activities include face painting, coloring contests, exciting raffle prizes, scrapbook making, cartoon film showings, arts and crafts shows and one-of-a-kind play centers and game areas. Special discounts will be available for toys and other character items on sale.

SUMMER KOMIKON 2013!

Fans of Pinoy cartoons or komics will also get together on April 13, 2013 from 10 am – 7 pm for the Summer Komikon at the Bayanihan Center, United Laboratories compound at 8008 Pioneer St., Kapitolyo, Pasig City.

Grab your copy of the latest local comics, meet your favorite comic artists, and challeng your drawing and storytelling skills! Contests include Comic Creation Contest, Character Making Contest, Create Your Own Foldabots Contest and the Titus Pens Create Your Own Seven Notes Cover Contest.

Comic artists Jomike Tejido – creator of Foldabots published in K-Zone and Mikrokosmos comic strips, Robert Magnuson – artist of Shirley’s Pets (Junior Inquirer) and OMF’s The Great Duck and Crocodile Race and Elbert Or – creator of Bakemono High (K-Zone) and also the artist for Lola: A Ghost Story by J. Torres will also be dropping by.

There’s a P100.00 entrance fee but kids under 12 who will arrve before noon get to enter for free!
