Just came across this on the net ~ Reddit.com users where asked “What is the creepiest thing your young child has ever said to you” and some of the posts were alternately hilarious and terrifying.

Kids say the funniest things. Imagine how you’d react if your daughter would suddenly tell you this:

“My 3 year old daughter stood next to her new born brother and looked at him for awhile then turned and looked at me and said, “Daddy it’s a monster..we should bury it.”

Oh dear.

While this one reminds of one time my son told me something similar.

“While changing my daughter in front of the open closet door. She kept looking around me and laughing. I asked her what was so funny. She said, “the man.” To which I replied, “what man?” She then pointed at the closet and said, “the man with the snake neck.” I turn around and nothing was there. I’m afraid to look into the history of my house to see if anyone hung themselves in the closet. At least she wasn’t scared.”

Once, we were alone in the house because the maids took the day off.  My heart gave a large thud when my son turned to me and said,” You know, Mom, there’s a girl in the kitchen.”

I asked him what he meant by that,  all the while dreading his answer. Even though I have never put much stock in ghost stories, I do believe that kids can sense the presence of spirits. Turned out, he was talking about our next-door neighbor whose voice can be heard from our dirty kitchen.

And there was this one time my son asked me how one gets married. When I asked him why, he replied, “I don’t want to be alone when you die.”
